Cyrus attended CUBIC in Hong Kong

IMSC director Cyrus Shahabi attended CUBIC (CityU Business & Industrial Club) on December 17th. CityU is a university in Hong Kong, founded in 1984. CUBIC was established to build close links between the local business and industrial communities and serves to develop close working relationship between the academia and industry.

 

Cyrus gave a talk about IMSC project ‘TransDec’, a Big Data framework for transportation system. More than 40 representatives from Hong Kong’s various Industries as well as some of the CityU’s faculty and students attended this event. The discussion focused on tech-transfer from academia to industry, as this topic is one of the unique success stories of IMSC. Cyrus shared some of the IMSC’s experiences in technology transfer and commercialization with the attendees.
