Research Interests

Prof. McKinstrie's main interests are nonlinear waves and wave-particle interactions. His current projects concern the propagation of optical pulses in fibers (collaboration with
G.P. Agarwal), laser-plasma interactions relevant to inertial confinement fusion (collaboration with scientists at the Laboratory for Laser Energetics) and relativistic laser-plasma interactions that accelerate particles.
