oUR Rankings and Reputation:
A renowned institution with a small undergraduate population of approximately 4,000. The University of Rochester is consistently in the top tier of many "best colleges and universities" lists:

• Designated as one of the 25 “New Ivies” by Newsweek in 2007.
• Ranked annually in the top 35 universities in the nation, as rated by U.S. News & World Report, and listed with peer institutions including Brandeis, Dartmouth, Cornell, Johns Hopkins, University of Chicago, and Columbia.
• A Carnegie Foundation “Research I” institution, along with only 29 other universities, including Cornell, Harvard, Duke, Johns Hopkins, and Stanford.
