This show is a  retrospective look of more than 260 books by Rochesterian Keith Smith.

Smith is an innovator in the book arts and throughout his career has created one-of-a kind artist's books, poetry collections, textbooks and dictionaries. He has influenced book artists, bookbinders and printmakers through both his personal work and his textbooks.

This exhibit is open through September 15.

Smith has received two Guggenheim Fellowships, a National Endowment for the Art (NEA), and other grants, including the Pollock/Krasner Foundation, and the Pilot Fine Art Still Photography Grant in 2002. His work is in the collections of the Museums of Modern Art of New York and San Francisco.

For most people, the word chilvary brings about vivid images of knights and castles found in modern-day popular films and books, but the origins of the chivalry are far more complex than a "story-book character."

Daniel Franke, History graduate student, has put together a display of images and text, that explores the origins, developments, and decline of chivalry in the Middle Ages.

The exhibit is free and open to the public. The materials are on display through September 5.

This exhibit features a collection of letters from a 1928 steamship trip around the world, Girl Scout memorabilia and photographs from an adventurous woman whose main occupation was in international girl scouting. This exhibit runs through May 30.

Sarah Burnham, an intern in the Department of Rare Books and Special Collections, is the curator of the exhibition.
