Post-Graduate:

  • Signed with the St. Louis Cardinals and pitched for the Rochester Red Wings in 1937 before joining Eastman Kodak
  • 1974—Received the National Football Foundation's Gold Medal Award for significant contributions to collegiate football
  • First recipient of the University's Lysle "Spike" Garnish Memorial Committee Citation
  • 1976—the American Football Coaches Association gave him the Amos Alonzo Stagg Award for outstanding services to football
  • 1978—Received the NCAA's Theodore Roosevelt Award, for significant contributions to higher education and amateur athletics
  • Kodak Vice President of Marketing and President and Chairman of the Board
  • Served as Chairman of the President's Commission on Olympic Sports
  • Passed away August, 1984
