Director's Corner

The Friends of Rochester Athletics was launched in 2000 to build on the momentum of the Campaign for Sports and Recreation. The Friends set out to support athletics beyond providing bricks and mortar, honoring the commitment of those who made the campaign a success.

Over the past two years, we have enhanced the strengths of our athletics program, in support of the University's commitment to excellence. The Friends have been central to our efforts, working with us to hold events in various regions, assisting in the recruitment of prospective students, developing career networking opportunities for our students, promoting alumni games, and providing critical resources to our teams. Many alumni have become active in the Friends, and the group is a reminder of our athletic tradition and the strength of bonds formed on varsity teams.

We want you to become involved. Visit campus and see for yourself the beautiful Goergen Athletic Center. The Friends of Rochester Athletics Donor Wall in the front atrium recognizes those who have provided leadership support through gifts to endowment and annual gifts at the Goergen Society level, and we look forward to continuing this recognition of support as we move forward.
