The American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA) provides $580 million for the National Institute of Standards and Technology.

• $220 million for Scientific and Technical Research and Services;
• $360 million for construction of research buildings. Out of that total, $180 million is for a competitive construction grant program for research science buildings
