2008 Elections for Faculty Senate and University Committee on Tenure and Privileges.

University-wide Faculty Senate elections will be held to elect 15 new senators to three-year terms. In addition, 3 new members of the University Committee on Tenure and Privileges (UCTP) need to be elected. UCTP seats are allocated by school and members serve 3-year terms. This year, UCTP elections will be held only in the College, the Warner School and the Simon School.

The timeline for the elections is as follows.

March 27: Nominations for Faculty Senate and UCTP elections are due.

Nominations need to be signed by three members of the Senate electorate, which according to the Senate Charter "consists of all full-time members of the faculties of any rank and of all part-time members of the faculties with the rank of professor or associate professor or equivalent rank." Nominees need to be "full-time members of one of the faculties of the University and shall hold the rank of professor, associate professor, or assistant professor. Even if otherwise qualified, the President, the Provost, the deans, the associate deans and others of comparable rank are ineligible for election to the Senate for the terms of their administrative appointments." April 1: Faculty Senate and UCTP ballots will be sent out via intercampus mail.

April 7: Faculty Senate and UCTP ballots are due.

April 15: Election results will be announced in the Faculty Senate and on this website.

April 22: Nominations for the Faculty Senate Executive Committee are due.

The Faculty Senate Executive Committee (FSEC) consists of eight Senators elected by the Senate. Members serve two-year terms. Nominations may be made by any Senator, and self-nominations are allowed.

April 24: FSEC ballots will be emailed out to the 2008-2009 Faculty Senate.

May 1: FSEC balots are due.

May 13: FSEC election results will be announced in the Faculty Senate and on this website.
