Chamber Singers General Information
The University of Rochester Chamber Singers is a select 20-25 member vocal ensemble based out of the Music Department. Made up primarily of undergraduate students in the College of Arts, Sciences and Engineering, the Chamber Singers explore a cappella and chamber music from the 14th to the 21st centuries. Unrestricted by stylistic barriers, the group feels comfortable performing everything from Renaissance motets to vocal jazz, with a special focus on performance of contemporary repertoire. The Chamber Singers have toured to New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C. Much in demand in the Rochester community, they were chosen to perform at the New York State School Music Association’s 2004 Winter Conference. The group is directed by Eastman School graduate student Irina Georgieva.
