Fellowships Calendar—Fall 2007

This calendar includes campus deadlines for fellowships that require some form of University nomination or endorsement as well as deadlines for other selected programs. Please be sure to consult official program websites to verify national application deadlines for all fellowships.

September 14th   Fellowships General Information Session (Sophomores - Seniors), 1:00 p.m., Gowen Room, Wilson Commons.
September 18th   Churchill Scholarship Information Session, time & location TBA.
September 21st-28th   Fulbright campus interviews. (exact date & time TBA)
September 24th   Rhodes nominees: campus submission deadline for final revised Rhodes Scholarship application.
September 29th   Marshall & Mitchell nominees: campus submission deadline for final revised Marshall Scholarship and Mitchell Scholarship application.
September 29th   Mitchell nominees: campus submission deadline for revised Mitchell application.
September 30th   Tylenol Scholarship national application deadline.
October 1st   Churchill Scholarship: application and two letters of recommendation due for campus nomination process.
October 1st   Rhodes Scholarship national application deadline.
October 4th   Marshall Scholarship national application deadline.
October 5th   Fellowships Preliminary Questionnaire (FPQ) due for late fall to early winter/spring fellowships competitions: e.g., Goldwater, Truman, Beinecke, Udall, St. Andrew’s Society, UNCF-Merck, Carnegie Junior Fellows.
October 5th   Mitchell Scholarship and Javits Fellowship national application deadline.
October 9th   Rhodes Scholarship national deadline for letters of recommendation.
October 10th   Soros Fellowship: draft application due for initial campus review.
October 15th   Cambridge graduate application receipt deadline for Gates Cambridge and Churchill applicants.
October 16th   Fulbright nominees: campus deadline for online submission of complete, final revised application and due date for all supporting documents.
October 17th   Fulbright nominees: campus deadline for submission of final revised hard copy of application and reference letters/language evaluations.
October 19th   Truman Scholarship: first draft of application and policy proposal due for initial review.
October 26th   Carnegie Jr. Fellowship: first draft of application and essays due for initial review.
October 26th   UNCF-Merck Scholarship: first draft of application due for initial review.
November 1st   Goldwater Scholarship: first draft of application and research essay due for initial review.
November 1st   NSF Graduate Research Fellowship: national application deadline, Interdisciplinary Fields of Study.
November 1st   Public Policy and International Affairs Fellowship national application deadline.
November 1st   Soros Fellowship national application deadline.
November 2nd   Saint Andrew’s Society Fellowship: first draft of application due for initial review.
November 2nd   Hertz Fellowship national application deadline.
November 2nd   NSF Graduate Research Fellowship: national application deadline, Social Sciences; Computer & Information Sciences and Engineering.
November 5th   National Physical Science Consortium Graduate Fellowship national application deadline.
November 6th   NSF Graduate Research Fellowship: national application deadline, Mathematical Sciences; Psychology; Geosciences.
November 7th   NSF Graduate Research Fellowship: national application deadline, Life Sciences.
November 8th   NSF Graduate Research Fellowship: national application deadline, Engineering.
November 9th   NSF Graduate Research Fellowship: national application deadline, Chemistry; Physics & Astronomy.
November 12th   Truman Scholarship: complete, revised draft application and reference letters due for campus nomination process.
November 12th   Churchill Scholarship national application deadline.
November 15th   Carnegie Jr. Fellowship: revised draft application and recommendation letters due for campus nomination process.
November 15th   Saint Andrew’s Society Fellowship: first draft of application due for initial review.

November 15th   Ford Foundation Pre-Doctoral Diversity Fellowship national application deadline.
November 16th   Fellowships Preliminary Questionnaire due for prospective Jack Kent Cooke Graduate Scholarship candidates.
November 19th   Saint Andrew’s Society: revised draft application and reference letters due for campus nomination process.
November 26th   Goldwater Scholarship: complete revised draft application and recommendation letters due for campus nomination process.
November 30th   Glamour Top Ten College Women Prize national application deadline.
November 30th   All-USA Today College Academic Team national application deadline.
December 3rd   Beinecke Scholarship: first draft of application and essay due for initial review.
December 7th   UNCF-Merck: final revised application due.
December 7th   Saint Andrew’s Society: final revised application due.
December 7th   Elie Wiesel Prize in Ethics Essay Contest national deadline.
December 10th   Udall Scholarship: first draft of application and essay due for initial review.
December 15th   UNCF-Merck national application deadline.
December 14th   Jack Kent Cooke Graduate Scholarship: first draft of application and essays due for initial review.
